Senior Software Design Assurance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with firmware teams, algorithm experts, and cross-functional groups to provide high-quality embedded software solutions for medical devices.

• Lead and shape the effective application, adherence to, and ongoing enhancement of software development and validation methodologies.

• Offer expertise in software design, testing protocols, configuration management, tool validation, and system integration processes.

• Engage actively in design evaluations, requirements analysis, and cross-functional discussions to enhance quality from the outset.

• Review and authorize software design control outputs and create essential technical documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, along with a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 2-5 years of equivalent industry experience, or a PhD with 0-2 years of experience.

• You have demonstrated experience in software quality or engineering, encompassing requirements analysis, design and development, product integration, and testing.

• You possess the ability to interpret software design and code to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.

• You have practical experience in software development and/or software testing.

• You are well-versed in SDLC processes and contemporary development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.

• You have experience with embedded systems and firmware, particularly with hardware/software integration and lab-based testing environments.

• You are familiar with regulated industries (preferably medical devices) and have knowledge of design controls, V&V, and quality systems (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 820, IEC 62304, ISO 13485).
