📋 Description

• Oversee the design and deployment of resilient and secure Snowflake platforms and data pipelines, encompassing a diverse array of technologies and levels of complexity.

• Establish and manage Snowflake accounts/environments (development/test/production), databases, schemas, virtual warehouses, and resource monitors; configure auto-suspend/auto-resume and multi-cluster capabilities as necessary.

• Implement and manage data ingestion and orchestration patterns using Streams/Tasks, Snowpipe/Kafka Connector, and external stages such as S3.

• Ensure security, compliance, and access governance through the implementation of RBAC role hierarchies, tag-based masking, row access policies, network policies, and session parameters (SSO/SCIM with Okta/Entra ID).

• Manage Snowflake objects and configurations as code (using Terraform Snowflake provider and/or Snowflake CLI) and develop Git-based promotion workflows that include pre-merge checks (grant diffs, policy linting, contract tests).

• Create observability dashboards and alerts to monitor utilization, query performance, task/pipe health, failures, and data freshness/volume anomalies; optimize performance and establish SLOs for latency, concurrency, and reliability.

• Implement cost optimization measures such as warehouse rightsizing, auto-suspend targets, query tagging, and chargeback/showback with unit-economics KPIs and variance assessments.

• Operate secure integrations with AWS (S3, IAM/KMS, PrivateLink/VPC endpoints), catalogs (Collibra), and BI tools (Tableau/Qlik/BOBJ).

• Provide Level-3 support, lead incident response and postmortem analyses with clear root cause analyses and solutions, and maintain/validate resiliency strategies and runbooks (including game days).

• Work autonomously on projects in a GitOps-driven environment, collaborating with development teams to automate processes and enhance productivity.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in platform or systems engineering, which includes designing, building, and maintaining large-scale applications.

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Snowflake administration within cloud environments (AWS preferred).

• In-depth knowledge of Snowflake, including RBAC design, masking and row access policies, object tags, Streams/Tasks, Snowpipe/Kafka Connector, search optimization, materialized views, and replication/failover.

• Expert understanding of AWS infrastructure components, such as EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, and others.

• Practical experience managing Infrastructure as Code frameworks like Terraform and CloudFormation.

• Proficient with CI/CD tools (GitHub and/or Azure DevOps), Git-based workflows, SQL, and at least one scripting language (Python, Go, Bash, or shell) for automation purposes.

• Solid understanding of Internet and cloud fundamentals (DNS, TLS, routing, SSH, HTTP/S), as well as basic Linux/Windows administration skills and IAM/KMS.

• Extensive knowledge in one or more DevOps disciplines, including code, CI, CD, operations, and infrastructure.

• Relevant certifications in AWS, Kubernetes, or similar areas.

• Generous paid time off policy upon hiring, which includes a paid time off program, ten paid company holidays, and three floating holidays each calendar year.
