Senior Small Space Craft Technology Commercialization Strategist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assist in formulating roadmaps for the remediation of space debris and promoting in-space sustainability, focusing on the optimal utilization of current commercial capabilities.

• Aid in crafting solicitations for SBIR, ACO, and other relevant subjects.

• Engage in the assessment and selection of proposals while overseeing the execution of SBIR and ACO initiatives.

• Act as a liaison with other NASA divisions, including the Space Operations Mission Directorate.

• Work in collaboration with the SST/FO Program Executive and other program staff to offer recommendations for customizing NASA's R&D program and project management standards.

• Coordinate efforts with senior NASA officials at various Centers and Headquarters to reach consensus on customized requirements.

• Identify, propose, and implement enhancements to program policies and processes.

• Design and execute pilot studies and impact evaluations as necessary.

• Document program processes and policies thoroughly.

• Provide support for strategy, management, and integration operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree with 18 years of relevant experience (PhD preferred).

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Proven technical proficiency in space situational awareness (SSA) and space sustainability is essential.

• Experience with risk-tolerant or iterative methodologies for space technology R&D and demonstration is required.

• Familiarity with standard SST mission components, including spectrum licensing, orbital debris evaluations, and launch safety documentation is preferred.

• Experience in conducting technical assessments of commercial industry solutions in SSA and space sustainability, including evaluating technical readiness and providing actionable insights.
