This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Conducts thorough reviews and investigations of referrals to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) to detect indicators of potential fraud by claimants, insured individuals, agents, brokers, providers, and attorneys.
• Assesses SIU referrals to determine if suspicious elements exist that could justify an investigation by the SIU.
• Develops clear and concise investigative action plans.
• Assigns investigative tasks to vendors when necessary and oversees these assignments while managing associated costs.
• Performs data analysis and employs analytical tools to uncover suspicious claims.
• Compiles and submits detailed investigative reports that document all phases of an investigation to aid in claim resolution.
• Gathers and forwards referrals to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), Departments of Insurance, and other law enforcement entities when appropriate.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience related to SIU in an insurance company and/or law enforcement investigation experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
• Technical Knowledge: Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and various software applications; fluency in multiple investigative computer programs such as TLO, ISO, Accurint, etc.
• Proficiency in Spanish or other languages is preferred.
