Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Traffic Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Guarantee the accessibility of content across a globally distributed edge infrastructure.

• Design, operate, and enhance load balancing and traffic management systems at scale.

• Diagnose connection, latency, and accessibility concerns from end to end.

• Manage HTTP traffic flow – from client to edge to origin and back.

• Analyze and rectify website and service reachability issues.

• Collaborate across protocol layers to identify problems at the appropriate depth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in load balancing and traffic shaping - covering architecture, algorithms, health checks, and failover.

• Proficiency in NGINX and/or HAProxy - including configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting in high-traffic settings.

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals - DNS, routing, firewalls, and packet capture and analysis.

• Fluency in the OSI model - comfortable working across L3–L7, including TCP internals and SSL/TLS handshake and termination.

• Experience with SaltStack.

• Proficient in Linux administration.

• Competency in Python programming - focusing on automation, tooling, and scripting.

• Ability to troubleshoot network and application-layer issues in production environments at scale.

• Knowledge of observability - including metrics, logging, and monitoring for traffic systems.

• Familiarity with Docker - managing the full lifecycle and dependencies with advanced networking techniques.
