Senior Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with teams to establish Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs)

• Develop systems for enhanced observability

• Partner with teams to evaluate failure scenarios and identify potential mitigations

• Generate runbooks aimed at remediating or preventing failure scenarios

• Minimize non-value-added work

• Engage in and lead incident management activities, including on-call responsibilities

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps engineering, QA engineering, and/or cloud engineering

• At least 2 years dedicated to the role of Site Reliability Engineer

• Proactive with strong communication skills, able to lead and mentor a development team

• Experience managing incidents in a production environment for a public-facing online service

• Background in corporate settings

• Proficient in programming and scripting

• Fundamental understanding of serverless services across one or more public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with various monitoring systems and APM tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, Prometheus, and Grafana

• Familiarity with various CI/CD tools, including GitHub, Azure DevOps, GitLab, and Jenkins

• Understanding and experience with microservices technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Strong conceptual grasp of software architecture and systems thinking

• Experience working as an engineer within a DevOps framework

• Proficient in English (C1 level or above)

• Knowledgeable in technologies like Datadog, Argo CI/CD, Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, Kubernetes/EKS, and AWS

• Experience in environments with publicly accessible, highly available eCommerce platforms

• Experience collaborating in international contexts with both onshore and offshore teams
