This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Create and oversee Shopify storefronts for various brands and regions, including localization, promotions, and catalog variations.
• Enhance and build Shopify themes utilizing Liquid and contemporary frontend technologies, prioritizing scalability, performance, and accessibility.
• Design and establish reusable components and unified systems across multiple brand storefronts.
• Lead and participate in eCommerce architecture planning, covering themes, integrations, performance, and environments.
• Facilitate technical discovery and convert business requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Identify and mitigate technical debt with a clear and practical roadmap.
• Establish and uphold development standards, including code structure, reviews, documentation, and release practices.
• Take ownership or share ownership of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring secure and repeatable deployments.
• Enhance workflows across development, testing, and production environments for various storefronts.
• Apply reliability practices such as automated checks, rollback strategies, and monitoring.
• Provide support for incident response on a high-traffic, revenue-generating platform.
• Implement and sustain automated testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate closely with product, UX, marketing, and IT teams.
• Assist in performance optimization and enhancements aimed at improving conversion rates.
• Mentor developers and uplift the engineering standards of the team.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in eCommerce development.
• Strong expertise in Shopify theme development, including Liquid, JSON templates, Shopify CLI, and theme architecture.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend development practices.
• Experience with CI/CD and current deployment workflows for web applications.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and the implementation of testing strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to enhance and scale existing codebases through refactoring and best practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
• Experience in multi-brand and/or multi-market Shopify environments is preferred.
• Knowledge of Shopify Functions, checkout extensibility, or Shopify app development is preferred.
• Experience integrating Shopify with ERP/OMS or third-party systems is preferred.
• Understanding of performance optimization techniques, including Core Web Vitals, caching, and profiling.
• Familiarity with conversion rate optimization and analytics tools is preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
