Senior SEND Assessment Review Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Supervise and monitor EHC needs assessments, annual reviews, reassessments, and phase transfer processes to guarantee compliance with statutory deadlines.

• Recognize and tackle delays, risks, and obstacles that impact case progression.

• Ensure that SEND processes are in line with applicable legislation, policies, and procedures.

• Manage a small caseload consisting of complex, sensitive, or high-profile cases that require senior oversight.

• Offer expert advice, guidance, coaching, and support to Assessment and Reviewing Officers.

• Promote accountability within the team by tracking case progression and performance.

• Assist colleagues in navigating challenging situations and achieving favorable outcomes for children and young people.

• Act as a resource of specialist knowledge and best practices within the service.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in SEND services and overseeing statutory SEND processes.

• Comprehensive experience with Education, Health, and Care (EHC) Needs Assessments and EHC Plans.

• Demonstrated experience managing complex and sensitive SEND casework.

• Experience in providing support, advice, guidance, and coaching to colleagues.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with schools, families, health services, and other professionals.

• Educated to Level 4 or higher in Education, SEND, Social Care, Public Services, or a related discipline; or possess substantial equivalent experience within a SEND statutory service.

• Basic DBS check required.

• 37 hours per week.
