This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
• Execute routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instruments to ensure they function correctly.
• Make technical decisions related to testing and problem resolution.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Deliver accurate and timely test results to facilitate quality patient care.
• Conduct and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and restock testing bench supplies as needed.
• Assist with specimen processing when required.
• Maintain a safe work environment and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• A minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may fulfill education requirements in place of the specified degree.
• Knowledge of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
• Experience in a high-volume laboratory setting.
• Proficient in computer usage and familiar with laboratory information systems.
• Capable of working autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Strong attention to detail, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Willingness to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business requirements.
• Must have a dedicated, non-shared HIPAA-compliant home office.
• Agree to have home address included in reports of analyzed or reported cases, as per CMS requirement.
• Wired internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-site remote environment while managing competing priorities.
• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
