Senior Security Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +9 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee security events and conduct technical analysis on alerts.

• Direct information security incidents and employee investigations by formulating the incident response strategy, leading the execution until incident resolution, while keeping key stakeholders informed throughout the process.

• Provide clear and concise security guidance for incident response and initiatives related to insider threats.

• Coordinate the development of services, capabilities, integrations, and technology implementations to enhance security operations, incident response, and insider threat management.

• Promote, exemplify, and integrate Samsara’s cultural values as the organization expands globally and establishes new offices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Security Incident Response.

• Capability to effectively communicate investigative findings and strategies to technical personnel, executive leadership, and legal teams.

• Proficiency in building scripts or tools to aid Samsara’s investigation processes, particularly in Python.

• Ability to mentor and train security operation engineers on data collection, analysis, and technical reporting.

• Hands-on experience serving as a lead during security incident responses, including monitoring and triaging alerts, and facilitating coordination among teams.

• Knowledge of analysis and forensic techniques across macOS, Windows, and Linux platforms.

• Familiarity with SIEM tools for conducting log reviews.

• Experience in cloud architecture and security, including AWS and GCP, as well as cloud-based services.

• Must reside in the Pacific Time Zone, Mountain Time Zone, or Central Time Zone within the United States.
