This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee in-depth investigations and incident responses for escalated events across client environments.
• Engage in proactive threat hunting activities.
• Conduct quality control reviews of Tier 1 and Tier 2 triage, investigations, and documentation.
• Guide and mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 analysts in real-time during their shifts.
• Take ownership of complex decisions regarding containment, response, and escalation.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients and on-call leadership during overnight incidents.
• Promote the continuous enhancement of standard operating procedures, runbooks, and detection tuning.
• Assist in monthly reporting by providing accurate event data, response statistics, and trend analysis.
• Must be a citizen of the United States.
• Capable of passing a drug screening and a comprehensive background investigation, which includes reference checks, employment history verification, educational background, and certifications.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in SOC or security operations, with a focus on incident response and mentoring or leadership roles.
• Proven experience in threat hunting and advanced investigative techniques.
• Strong proficiency in SIEM and EDR platforms, along with vulnerability management processes.
• Familiarity with the incident lifecycle: detection, triage, containment, and escalation.
• Reliable ability to work overnight shifts as part of a rotation that includes weekends.
• Exceptional written communication skills and meticulous documentation practices.
• Preferred expert-level experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, CrowdStrike, or similar EDRs, as well as Tenable.
• GCIH, GSEC, GCFA, CySA+, or comparable advanced certification is preferred.
• Scripting or automation experience in Python or PowerShell is preferred.
• Previous experience in managed security services or leadership within a multi-tenant SOC is preferred.
• Exposure to critical infrastructure environments is preferred.
• Residence in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area is preferred.
