Senior Security Engineer, Threat Detection and Response

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations into security incidents utilizing digital forensics and data analysis techniques.

• Employ coding, data analysis, and investigative skills to proactively hunt for, detect, and respond to threats.

• Develop automation and detection models to recognize anomalous activities and effectively mitigate threats on a large scale.

• Actively seek out threats within corporate and production environments.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to create advanced detection solutions and execute complex investigations.

• Recognize deficiencies in infrastructure and partner with business associates to enhance visibility through improved logging and detection methods.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams such as Legal, Privacy, and Engineering to ensure efficient responses on a large scale.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical technical experience in security operations, covering investigations, incident response, incident management, digital forensics, threat intelligence, threat hunting, and/or detection engineering.

• Strong proficiency in Python or another scripting language; frequent use of SQL and Pandas is expected.

• Experience in automating security detection and response processes.

• Familiarity with the Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks and their relevance to the threat landscape.

• A self-driven problem solver capable of working independently with limited guidance.

• Ability to lead by influence in complex and ambiguous situations.

• Composed, cooperative, and efficient in high-stress situations that require critical thinking.
