Senior Security Engineer – SecOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Identify and address security incidents on a global level.

• Serve as the incident commander to guide incidents through the complete response lifecycle.

• Design and sustain a collection of security alerts, automated responses, playbooks, and escalation workflows to support a high-performing 24/7 incident response capability.

• Conduct threat hunting initiatives, anticipate future threats, and uphold forward-thinking strategies for tools, technologies, and processes that counteract sophisticated threat actors.

• Research threat intelligence reports, triage findings, and manage subsequent workflows.

• Collaborate with key stakeholders and communicate effectively to maintain a continuous feedback loop for preparation, identification, analysis, containment, and post-mortem activities.

• Engage in on-call rotation.


⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of proven experience managing security incidents on a global scale and/or experience in Security Operations Centers (SOC), Product Security Incident Response Teams (PSIRT), and Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRT).

• Proficiency in security information and event management (SIEM) systems (e.g., ELK, Google BigQuery, Splunk, etc.), with a preference for Splunk expertise.

• Expertise in endpoint detection and investigation.

• Hands-on experience with leading EDR tools and a demonstrated ability to utilize endpoint telemetry to identify root causes.

• Expertise in security orchestration and automation (SOAR) platforms such as Tines or Splunk SOAR.

• Exceptional communication and leadership skills; ability to collaborate effectively with diverse company stakeholders.

• Real-world experience in software development and/or engineering operations for consumer products and services.

• Practical experience with cloud technologies (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Heroku, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
