Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the development of the security engineering framework supporting MLB’s application delivery and cloud infrastructure.

• Develop automation scripts, integrate security tools, and transform security requirements into effective controls.

• Aim to minimize avoidable security issues while enhancing the detection and management of findings.

• Work in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines.

• Enhance security controls across CI/CD pipelines, source code management platforms, artifact repositories, and deployment processes.

• Establish policy-as-code and security guardrails for cloud and infrastructure workflows.

• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to refine secure delivery methodologies.

• Discover opportunities to implement AI-assisted workflows within security tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or relevant practical experience.

• Over 4 years of experience in DevSecOps, software engineering, security engineering, cloud security, infrastructure security, or a related field.

• Expertise in one or more programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, or similar, with experience in developing automation, integrations, or production tooling.

• Experience with REST and/or GraphQL APIs, including testing, debugging, and integration development.

• Practical experience with DevOps and infrastructure automation tools, including Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.

• Skilled in integrating security controls into development, CI/CD, infrastructure, or cloud workflows.

• Familiarity with cloud security concepts and controls, primarily with Google Cloud Platform (GCP); knowledge of AWS, OCI, Azure, or multi-cloud security patterns is advantageous.

• Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with high accuracy and attention to detail while maintaining confidentiality with sensitive information.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
