📋 Description

• Oversaw the assessment and design of network security solutions within datacenters and virtual cloud platforms.

• Provided both technical and administrative leadership to personnel tasked with the design, implementation, and operational aspects of security infrastructure, ensuring the accuracy of their outputs.

• Offered recommendations and supervised significant installations of security infrastructure.

• Ensured adherence to agency IT standards in security architecture and effective integration with other systems and external interfaces.

• Gained insights into and executed agency security policies within network security infrastructure devices.

• Assessed cybersecurity risks to guarantee the protection of critical data and systems according to federal guidelines, integrating them with enterprise-wide solutions.

• Monitored trends, news, and shifts in threat and compliance landscapes.

• Advised organizational management and formulated and implemented plans for compliance and risk mitigation.

• Utilized security engineering principles and theories to suggest design and configuration alternatives.

• Reviewed existing security systems to pinpoint deficiencies and areas for enhancement.

• Designed, implemented, maintained, and operated security controls and countermeasures for information systems.

• Provided technical direction to personnel regarding security requirements and potential solutions or mitigation strategies.

• Led, mentored, and managed a team of security professionals, promoting a collaborative and high-performance workplace.

• Conducted performance evaluations, offered career development advice, and supported the professional advancement of team members.

• Coordinated and managed team projects, ensuring effective delegation and timely task completion.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 15 years of experience as a Security Engineer.

• Specialized experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale or enterprise-wide network security systems, including Firewalls, IDS/IPS, content filters, and SSL-Visibility systems.

• Advanced security certification from Palo Alto, Cisco, or Juniper, with a preference for Palo Alto.

• Strong skills in people management, including team leadership, conflict resolution, and performance management.

• Ability to oversee the design and implementation of network security solutions in datacenters and virtual cloud environments.

• Technical and administrative oversight of security infrastructure projects.

• Assurance of compliance with agency IT standards and security architecture.

• Evaluation of cybersecurity risks and protection strategies for critical data and systems.

• Proficiency in security architecture, design, implementation, and operations.

• Analysis of trends and compliance environments to provide advice on risk and mitigation strategies.
