Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Evaluating and minimizing the risks associated with conducting business in today's interconnected landscape.

• Collaborating directly with Akamai's IT and engineering teams to provide security design recommendations for both new and existing applications, systems, and platforms.

• Conducting research and keeping abreast of adversarial methods, emerging vulnerabilities, and corresponding detection and response strategies.

• Performing security assessments on networks, applications, and systems to identify risks and recommend mitigation approaches.

• Aiding in the design and implementation of security controls aimed at risk reduction.

• Carrying out compliance and policy-driven investigations of internal systems.

• Creating documentation for security guidelines, procedures, and policies with a strong focus on NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171.

• Offering security advice and support to various Akamai business units.

• Utilizing emerging AI technologies to improve existing processes and automation.

• Developing scripts and tools to assist with the aforementioned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience coupled with a Bachelor's degree.

• Demonstrated experience in network security analysis or intrusion management.

• Familiarity with malware and vulnerability detection and remediation.

• Proven track record in identifying software and application vulnerabilities and compromises.

• Experience with the secure deployment and utilization of infrastructure-as-a-service solutions.

• Background in working within a FedRAMP and/or CMMC certified environment.
