Senior Security Architect

Posted May 10

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as a true business partner rather than a gatekeeper.

• Engage with teams early in the development process to grasp their objectives and motivations — then assist them in achieving those goals securely.

• Convert intricate security risks into straightforward business terminology, empowering stakeholders to make informed and confident decisions.

• Negotiate workable solutions that strike a balance between business agility and security best practices.

• Oversee security initiatives from start to finish — encompassing gap identification, solution selection, implementation, and handoff.

• Collaborate with both teams throughout the process, not just at the conclusion.

• Take charge of developing and executing a proactive, cloud-first security architecture vision.

• Identify deficiencies in our current security posture and investigate emerging technologies.

• Advocate for standardized security architecture frameworks to continually enhance our security discipline.

• Establish and uphold Terraform-based configuration standards alongside modern identity management practices.

• Ensure that data and application security are foundational aspects of everything we create.

• Manage our network penetration testing program, coordinating approximately five third-party assessments annually.

• Design cybersecurity solutions that conform to enterprise policies while remaining practical enough for teams to implement effectively.

• Elevate the security awareness across the enterprise through continuous education and communication.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of demonstrated experience as a security architect.

• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS and/or GCP.

• Proficiency with security tools and technologies, including Wiz and Cloudflare.

• Strong understanding of security architecture frameworks such as NIST CSF 2.0 and NIST AI RMF.

• Experience in building and maintaining security systems with an emphasis on data and application security.

• Practical experience with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, authentication systems, log management, anti-virus, and content filtering.

• Solid understanding of network configurations, devices, and security monitoring tools.

• Up-to-date knowledge of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.

• Familiarity with web technologies, web services, and service-oriented architectures along with their corresponding protocols.

• Proven ability to negotiate and influence.

• Strong business acumen.

• Strong leadership presence.

• Outstanding communication skills.

• BS in Computer Science or a related field, or an additional 3 years of equivalent experience.

🏝️ Benefits

• Unlimited paid time off.

• 401(k) with employer match.

• Remote-first environment.
