
Senior SDET – Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take charge of the design, development, and upkeep of scalable automated test frameworks (Playwright, API, integration, end-to-end).
• Create and manage dependable test infrastructure seamlessly integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead the test automation strategy, focusing on coverage, speed, and signal quality optimization.
• Detect systemic quality gaps and tackle them through tooling and engineering enhancements.
• Collaborate with engineers to design systems that are test-friendly (e.g., observability, contracts, idempotency).
• Develop production-quality code for test systems, utilities, and supporting infrastructure.
• Enhance the developer experience by facilitating quick and reliable feedback loops.
• Automate validation of complex payment processes and external integrations (e.g., Stripe) using an automation-first approach.
• Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement systemic solutions to prevent future occurrences.
• Establish and uphold quality standards for high-reliability, revenue-critical systems.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, SDET, or roles focused on test automation.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining test automation frameworks at scale.
• Familiarity with API, integration, and end-to-end testing methodologies.
• Strong comprehension of CI/CD systems and optimization of test pipelines.
• Proven track record in enhancing test reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Capability to design systems with testability in mind (e.g., dependency injection, contract testing).
• Experience with distributed systems and an understanding of potential failure modes.
• Background in payments, e-commerce, or financial systems is preferred.
