This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of the technical aspects of test frameworks, infrastructure, and tooling.
• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize automation frameworks for Optro's web applications.
• Drive the strategy for synthetic data and generative AI initiatives.
• Create and execute a high-level architectural roadmap to evolve legacy test frameworks into self-healing, AI-driven systems.
• Gain an in-depth understanding of the system's code architecture and component interactions.
• Assess, prototype, and implement innovative agentic tools to improve test automation frameworks and tooling.
• Oversee technical communications and mentor junior SDETs in technical aspects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, platform, architecture, and product teams.
• Provide technical insights on product design and architectural decisions.
• Assess and give feedback on the testability of functional components.
• Investigate test tools, frameworks, methodologies, and trends, while updating existing practices to adapt to the rapidly changing tech landscape.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
• Over 9 years of demonstrated experience in Software Development in Test.
• A minimum of 4 years' experience using Playwright or Cypress is mandatory.
• At least 4 years of experience programming in JavaScript and/or TypeScript (preferred).
• More than 4 years of experience in test automation for SaaS and/or B2B internet-based applications.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in building test automation using technologies like NodeJS, NPM, etc.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code automation technologies such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, etc.
• Proven track record in researching new technologies that enhance application performance, infrastructure, and team productivity.
• Demonstrable experience in debugging complex issues across various services or layers within an application stack.
• Strong technical acumen with a history of making architectural decisions.
• Experience testing web applications on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or others.
• Familiarity with Agile-Scrum and other Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills for effective collaboration with developers during troubleshooting and peer reviews.
