• Accountable for the design, implementation, and management of control system infrastructure.
• Responsible for programming PPC, HMI, and RTU, as well as creating technical documentation.
• Assist with daily plant automation operations to guarantee network reliability, availability, and serviceability with minimal disruptions.
• Provide technical assistance, address complex work orders and user tickets, and analyze and resolve intricate issues related to operation technology/control systems.
• Supervise and engage in network technology enhancements or expansion initiatives, which include hardware installation, software integration, and testing.
• Participate in on-site construction and plant commissioning efforts.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for systems related to control and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external EPC vendors during project bidding and execution phases as required.
• A minimum of a BA/BS in a relevant field; a degree in electrical engineering is preferred.
• At least 6+ years of experience in a related industry, with a strong preference for the renewable energy sector.
• Familiarity and experience with battery energy storage systems applications, including primary frequency response (PFR), fast frequency response (FFR), and black start, are highly preferred.
• Proven expertise in the design and maintenance of plant control systems utilizing industry-standard SCADA and PLC platforms.
• Understanding of data logging necessities and various historian platforms.
• Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition.
• Familiarity with Schneider Electric Modicon PLCs, SEL RTACs, and Novatech Orions.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as DNP3.0, Modbus, OPC-UA, and MQTT.
• Proficiency in programming languages including Python, IEC 61131-3, C, C++, and C#.
• Skilled in drafting technical specifications for process or manufacturing equipment.
• Strong grasp of cyber-security best practices, including IT/OT standards.
• Understanding of NERC/CIP/NIST procedures.
• Ability to convey complex technical analyses in a simplified manner to internal management and/or external stakeholders.
• Proven capability to thrive in a cross-functional environment, collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
