This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accountable for the design, implementation, and management of control system infrastructure.
• Tasked with programming for PPC, HMI, and RTU, along with the creation of technical documentation.
• Assist in daily plant automation operations to maintain network reliability, availability, and serviceability with minimal disruptions.
• Provide technical assistance, address intricate work orders and user tickets, and analyze complex operational technology/control system issues.
• Supervise and engage in network technology upgrades or expansion initiatives, including the installation of hardware, software, and integration testing.
• Participate in on-site construction and plant commissioning efforts.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in control and instrumentation systems.
• Collaborate across departments and with external EPC vendors during project bidding and execution phases as necessary.
• A minimum of a BA/BS degree in a related field; an electrical engineering degree is preferred.
• At least 6+ years of relevant industry experience, with a strong preference for experience in the renewable energy sector.
• Familiarity and experience with battery energy storage systems use cases, including primary frequency response (PFR), fast frequency response (FFR), and black start, are highly preferred.
• Proven expertise in designing and maintaining plant control systems utilizing industry-standard SCADA and PLC platforms.
• Understanding of data logging requirements along with various historian platforms.
• Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition.
• Proficiency with Schneider Electric Modicon PLCs, SEL RTACs, and Novatech Orions.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as DNP3.0, Modbus, OPC-UA, and MQTT.
• Proficient in programming languages including Python, IEC 61131-3, C, C++, and C#.
• Competent in drafting technical specifications for process or manufacturing equipment.
• Strong grasp of cyber-security best practices including IT/OT standards.
• Familiarity with NERC/CIP/NIST procedures.
• Ability to articulate complex technical analyses in a simplified manner to internal management and/or external parties.
• Proven capability to thrive in a cross-functional environment, collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
