This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Provide and manage technical support for client SAP landscapes and associated satellite systems.
• Improve, update, and implement essential changes.
• Design innovative SAP solutions and develop related procedures.
• Act as the primary delivery liaison for designated client accounts.
• Serve as the sole point of contact for organizing and coordinating client technical maintenance and upgrade activities.
• Collaborate with client technical teams during regular meetings to offer planning and enhancement suggestions.
• Conduct SAP system migrations and landscape refreshes.
• Oversee data protection processes, including database backup and recovery.
• Support high-availability configurations and ongoing SAP system maintenance, including performance management, patching, and issue resolution.
• Create and sustain documentation for problem-solving, root cause analysis, and procedural guidelines.
• Propel continuous improvement in system operations alongside delivery and development teams.
• Engage in root cause analysis in collaboration with software development and delivery teams.
• Participate in efforts aimed at enhancing operational performance.
• Review workflow processes and standard operating procedures with team leaders and members.
• Implement defined projects and provide progress reports.
• Mentor and train new team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8-10 years of relevant hands-on experience in SAP Basis engineering with one or more areas of specialization.
• At least 3 years of experience working as an SAP Basis engineer in a service provider or advanced IT organization that operates 24/7.
• Strong experience in administering SAP HANA databases.
• Robust experience in managing SAP Sybase databases.
• Knowledge of SAP security principles.
• Proficient in configuration management and automation tools.
• Familiarity with agile engineering methodologies (Kanban, continuous delivery, etc.).
• Experience with AWS and Azure services within commercial or government cloud environments.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Detail-oriented and capable of meeting deadlines.
• Must be a US citizen; work is to be performed within the borders of the US.
• Preferred experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ansible.
• Experience with ITSM tools, particularly ServiceNow, is preferred.
• Development experience in a high-level programming language such as Python or Java is a plus.
