Senior SAP ABAP Consultant, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Analyze business processes, identify gaps, and propose effective SAP technical solutions to meet business objectives.

• Convert functional requirements into comprehensive technical specifications and solution designs.

• Design, develop, test, and support SAP ABAP solutions in accordance with SAP standards and best development practices.

• Deliver and support RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows) within an SAP ECC environment.

• Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including designs, specifications, and support materials.

• Conduct code analysis, debugging, performance optimization, and impact assessments for both existing and new developments.

• Support SAP integrations with third-party applications and external systems through interfaces, web services, SAP Gateway OData services, and related technologies.

• Ensure all system modifications are managed through established change control and governance processes.

• Provide technical and integration architecture guidance to SAP functional teams and project stakeholders.

• Accurately assess development efforts and contribute to project planning and delivery schedules.

• Lead small-scale technical initiatives and offer guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and developers.

• Facilitate workshops with business users and stakeholders to collect, validate, and refine technical requirements.

• Collaborate with internal and external development teams to review solutions, define technical standards, and ensure quality delivery.

• Assist in testing activities, including unit testing, smoke testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, knowledge sharing, and adherence to quality and compliance standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• At least 7 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience in complex enterprise SAP environments.

• Strong experience in delivering end-to-end SAP developments across various project lifecycles, including implementations, upgrades, migrations, rollouts, mergers, or divestitures.

• Proven expertise in SAP ABAP development, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning.

• Significant experience in delivering RICEFW developments.

• Practical experience with SAP technical components, including:

• - Function Modules

• - Data Dictionary Objects

• - BADIs and BAPIs

• - User Exits

• - CDS Views

• - Smart Forms

• - SAP Gateway OData Services

• - Web Services

• Experience in integrating SAP with third-party platforms and enterprise applications.

• Strong understanding of secure ABAP coding standards and SAP development best practices.

• Ability to analyze existing (“AS-IS”) solutions and conduct impact and risk assessments for future (“TO-BE”) designs.

• Experience in creating technical documentation, test cases, and user support materials.

• Solid grasp of the software development lifecycle, change management, and release processes.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities with the capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a collaborative and customer-focused mindset.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently or as part of a larger team.
