Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain scalable backend applications utilizing Ruby on Rails.

• Implement new features and enhance the functionality of the existing platform.

• Collaborate with Product Managers to convert requirements into technical solutions and assess development efforts.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested production code.

• Engage in code reviews, testing, and making technical decisions.

• Diagnose issues and enhance application performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Partner with distributed engineering, product, and infrastructure teams.

• Work closely with the CTO, Tech Lead, and the broader engineering team on scalable, AI-powered applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in backend or full-stack software engineering.

• Proficient, hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, ideally recent and in a production environment.

• Experience in developing and scaling production applications used by real users.

• Capability to take ownership of features from initial requirements through development, testing, and deployment.

• Prior experience in a startup, scale-up, or similarly fast-paced setting.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and the skill to balance code quality with delivery speed.

• Excellent command of English and experience collaborating with international teams.

• Comfortable working with uncensored AI companionship products and explicit NSFW content.

• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Redis, Hotwire (Turbo and Stimulus), and Tailwind CSS.

• Preference for B2B contract arrangements; flexible.
