Senior RPG Programmer/Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the analysis, design, development, and ongoing maintenance of essential IBM i applications.

• Assist our clients in troubleshooting application issues, identifying business requirements, and providing solutions throughout the complete project lifecycle.

• Evaluate, design, code, and test software applications utilizing all versions of RPG and SQL.

• Ensure the integrity of programs and applications through various testing stages (Unit, Integration, Smoke, etc.).

• Convert system architecture into clear textual and visual documentation suitable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Able to lead a small technical team when necessary.

• Aid clients in transitioning legacy business applications to modern, scalable ILE applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 20 years of demonstrated experience with the IBM i (iSeries/AS/400) platform.

• Proficient in various RPG forms (notably RPGLE, including Free-form syntax and embedded SQL).

• Advanced expertise in DB2 application programming and database design.

• Comprehensive understanding of ILE concepts (Modules, Service Programs, Binding Directories).

• Experience with structured deployment and version control procedures.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with different levels of client personnel.
