This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct risk control and safety audits at client facilities, which involves traveling to client locations for on-site assessments, leading opening and closing meetings with client representatives, performing facility walkthroughs to pinpoint potential loss exposures and safety hazards, documenting observations through comprehensive field notes and photographs, and preparing photo-illustrated digital reports utilizing Poms Risk Organizer (PRO).
• Offer expert consultation services to clients by addressing safety and compliance concerns in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, assessing client challenges and crafting practical solutions for implementation, aiding clients in comprehending factors influencing workers’ compensation, general liability, and automobile claim trends, and supporting the development and execution of regulatory, safety, and environmental compliance programs.
• Create and deliver occupational health, safety, and environmental training programs for supervisors and employees across diverse industries.
• Contribute to the ongoing growth and enhancement of Poms’ risk control service offerings.
• Maintain professional expertise through ongoing education, professional development, and relevant certifications.
• Manage additional projects, research, and responsibilities as assigned.
• A minimum of a Bachelor of Science or Arts degree; an advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
• Regular exercise of discretion and independent judgment is required.
• Upon hiring, obtain Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certification.
• Proven expertise in safety, health, environmental, and risk control practices.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation is preferred.
• At least ten years of experience in safety, health, environmental, and/or risk control.
• Eligibility to join a professional organization, such as the American Society of Safety Professionals.
• Ability to analyze, develop, and manage risk control programs effectively.
• Proficient in MS Office products, particularly Word and Excel software.
• Willingness and ability to travel routinely and frequently by automobile, airplane, and other forms of public transportation to support client engagements.
• Capability to travel primarily throughout California, with occasional overnight and out-of-state travel to meet client needs (including, but not limited to, locations outside of California such as New Mexico).
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a vehicle for business-related travel.
