📋 Description

• The Senior Research Manager plays a vital role within Mercer Advisors’ Investment Management Group (IMG), overseeing and implementing the firm’s investment solutions across billable AUM.

• Facilitate the investment research process through due diligence on managers, capital markets research, performance analysis, and the documentation of investment policies and procedures.

• Collaborate closely with the Director of Investment Research and other team members to uphold the integrity and effectiveness of the firm’s investment platform.

• Gather, analyze, and maintain data and performance metrics at the asset class level, focusing on fixed income, special solutions, and derivative instruments.

• Assume a leadership role in designing and evaluating frameworks for asset class investments, portfolios, and SMA strategies.

• Conduct both initial and ongoing due diligence for traditional, systematic, and quantitative investment managers and their strategies.

• Develop, monitor, and improve tools for analyzing performance attribution and risk management.

• Prepare, maintain, and update comprehensive memos on strategies that include due diligence questionnaires, fund manager interactions, and quantitative monitoring reports, adhering to compliance and operational standards.

• Create materials and analyses for Mercer Advisors’ Investment Committee and its sub-committees.

• Contribute to capital markets research and assist in creating educational content for internal stakeholders.

• Support the documentation and upkeep of departmental investment policies and procedures.

• Work alongside the Director of Investment Research on regulatory audits and internal documentation assessments.


⛳️ Requirements

• An MBA or CFA is preferred; candidates with degrees in computer science, engineering, statistics, or other quantitative areas are also encouraged to apply.

• A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in investment research, portfolio analysis, or a related field is required.

• A thorough understanding of financial markets, portfolio theory, asset class structures, fund manager attribution analysis, derivatives, risk management, and statistical modeling is essential.

• Strong programming skills (e.g., R, Python, SQL, and/or Microsoft VBA) are necessary.

• Experience in data management, particularly with financial market data vendors (e.g., Ycharts, FactSet, Bloomberg, Morningstar, S&P Global DataInsight), database development (e.g., Microsoft Fabric), and data visualization tools; familiarity with Orion and Custom Direct Indexing is a plus.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Capability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to lead ad hoc group projects on behalf of the Investment Committee.

• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid team setting.
