Senior Research Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Responsible for recruiting, training, evaluating, supervising, and providing support to the research staff involved in One Plan union campaigns and programs; lead both international and local research staff, ensuring alignment of plans and work assignments with SEIU's organizing, political, mobilization, and campaign objectives.

• Collaborates with International Union research personnel to devise effective national organizing, political, and priority campaigns.

• Continuously supports union leaders on campaigns and programs.

• Aids in the direct execution of strategies and tactics that bolster national union campaigns and programs, including collaborating with leaders and union staff to formulate organizing and policy campaign strategies.

• Contributes to the establishment of Local union research networks that enhance long-term capacity and campaign efforts within Local unions.

• Offers research support to SEIU State councils regarding legislation, regulations, and other political activities.

• Conducts policy and funding analysis to reinforce campaign strategies.

• Provides education and training to International and Local staff on policy and industry matters pertinent to SEIU's campaigns and programs.

• Engages with employers and industry stakeholders on industrial policy issues.

• Performs other assigned duties in support of departmental objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as labor relations, political science, sociology, business, economics, finance, or pre-law, or a combination of at least 5 years of relevant experience and education that will facilitate the development of research and campaign support aligned with SEIU's goals and objectives.
