This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +2 more states.
• Evaluate retirement plan documents to examine design features, compliance obligations, and regulatory conformity.
• Convert business and client needs into tailored, compliant prototype plan documents.
• Create, maintain, and revise plan documents, including 401(k), profit-sharing, and money purchase plans.
• Conduct protected benefits reviews to safeguard participant rights during plan modifications and transitions.
• Detect inconsistencies, gaps, and risks within plan documents and propose effective solutions.
• Ensure all documents are consistent with current IRS, ERISA, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, operations, and client-facing departments.
• Assist in the development of plan design documentation and implementation resources.
• Oversee multiple projects while adhering to deadlines in a dynamic, regulated setting.
• Contribute to enhancements in processes, quality benchmarks, and documentation best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of defined contribution retirement plans and plan document frameworks.
• Familiarity with ERISA, IRS qualification standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience in analyzing plan documents, including amendments, restatements, and conversions.
• Capability to interpret complex legal and technical content with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent written communication skills with the capacity to produce clear, organized documentation.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate efficiently across teams.
• QKA certification or an advanced credential such as QKC or ERPA is preferred.
• Experience with plan mergers, conversions, and protected benefits analysis is preferred.
• Familiarity with plan document systems like Relius or similar platforms is preferred.
• Experience in maintaining plan document libraries or prototype language databases is preferred.
• Exposure to document quality assurance processes and discrepancy resolution is preferred.
