This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and execute radiometric calibration and image processing for the multispectral infrared imagery from Muon’s FireSat mission.
• Develop and carry out the calibration program for the SBEM infrared camera.
• Conduct research and development to enhance foundational data calibration and processing.
• Implement and manage production pipelines for calibration and data processing.
• Write code that is ready for production.
• Collaborate across teams within Muon to design, build, and maintain operational services for Muon’s core remote sensing missions.
• Acquire knowledge on new topics as necessary (measurement techniques, geospatial data engineering, software engineering, and customer domain-specific implications).
• PhD with over 3 years of industry experience; or MS with more than 6 years of industry experience; or BS with at least 8 years of industry experience.
• More than 4 years of experience in calibrating imaging instruments.
• Practical experience with complex data from new imaging instruments.
• Exceptional proficiency in Python-based development and analysis.
• Strong skills in statistics and mathematics.
• Capability to work effectively within a distributed, interdisciplinary team (including scientists, engineers, and data support).
