Senior Regional EHS Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Support facility EHS teams in fostering a secure workplace and ensuring the consistent application of environmental, health, and safety initiatives.

• Facilitate the effective execution of corporate programs and serve as a resource for reviewing and updating SOPs, control plans, and established Smithfield programs and policies.

• Conduct assessments on water, energy, waste, and food loss management, develop project scope documentation, manage project timelines, and prepare report submissions.

• Responsible for ensuring adherence to safety regulations in accordance with federal standards and corporate policies, including Smithfield’s Injury Prevention System (SIPS), PSM, and the EMS.

• Tasked with reporting any incidents to the EHS Operations Director.

• Lead corporate audit teams in assessing risks and implementing associated programs.

• Assist in managing claim costs and engage in case management reviews.

• Ensure that all required training is delivered and remains current.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in environmental, health and safety, or a related field.

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.

• At least 2 years of proven experience in team management/development or project leadership is necessary.

• Capability to make strategic decisions under pressure, including leading emergency response efforts.

• Motivated by collaboration, with the willingness to travel to various locations 75% of the time based on the initiatives being executed.

• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation procedures.

• Bilingual capabilities are preferred but not mandatory.
