Senior Redwood RunMyJobs Administrator – Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main point of contact and subject matter authority for Redwood RunMyJobs.

• Oversee and sustain job schedules, workflows, dependencies, and batch processing throughout enterprise systems.

• Administer, configure, apply patches, upgrade, and maintain the Redwood RunMyJobs platform.

• Monitor job execution, alerts, and system performance to guarantee reliability and adherence to SLAs.

• Diagnose and resolve job failures, performance challenges, and system errors.

• Manage platform configurations, user roles, security settings, and connectivity.

• Provide on-call support for critical batch failures and incidents.

• Design, develop, and enhance automated workflows and job chains.

• Design, implement, and uphold batch schedules based on business and technical requirements.

• Define execution times, job priorities, dependencies, triggers, calendars, and scheduling logic.

• Identify opportunities for enhancing operational efficiency through automation.

• Analyze and optimize batch job performance and resource utilization.

• Assist in the integration of RunMyJobs with enterprise applications and data sources.

• Develop and maintain documentation for workflows, processes, configurations, and troubleshooting methods.

• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, data, and operations teams to support enterprise integrations.

• Configure and manage RunMyJobs agents and connectivity across different environments.

• Support file-transfer processes, API-based integrations, and event-driven workflows.

• Assist with integrations involving ETL/ELT processes and enterprise data platforms.

• Aid in environment setup, upgrades, migrations, and maintenance tasks.

• Troubleshoot CI/CD and migration-related incidents.

• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand requirements and convert them into automation solutions.

• Engage in requirements discussions, technical working sessions, and testing activities.

• Work alongside operations and project teams to ensure reliable batch processing and enterprise integration.

• Suggest best practices for workload automation and the usage of the RunMyJobs platform.

• Contribute to process enhancements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiency.

• Document troubleshooting procedures, scheduling policies, configurations, and lessons learned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of overall IT/software/automation experience.

• More than 5 years of direct, hands-on experience with Redwood RunMyJobs, including administration, configuration, scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

• Strong comprehension of job scheduling, dependencies, workflow orchestration, and workload automation.

• Proficient scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, KornShell (KSH), Python, or other scripting languages.

• Experience in creating, debugging, and executing scripts for batch automation and system monitoring.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or comparable cloud platforms.

• Practical experience with both Linux and Windows operating systems.

• In-depth knowledge of application installation, upgrades, patching, and configuration management.

• Experience in designing and maintaining batch dependencies, triggers, calendars, and execution windows.

• Proficient in troubleshooting CI/CD and migration-related incidents.

• Experience with integrations, including APIs and file-based ETL/ELT processes.

• Experience working with mainframe systems and JobTrac.

• Capable of providing on-call support for critical batch failures and incidents.

• Preferred: experience with data-focused transformation or migration projects, including legacy-to-modern platform migrations.

• Preferred: familiarity with IMS, COBOL files, JCL, and mainframe batch processes.

• Preferred: experience in enterprise workload automation and large-scale batch environments.

• Preferred: experience with AI technologies, AI-assisted automation, or intelligent workflow optimization.
