This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Turkey.
β’ Enhance the precision, responsiveness, and reliability of indoor-outdoor positioning algorithms across various venues, devices, and real-world scenarios.
β’ Conduct research, develop, and assess classical estimation and machine learning positioning algorithms utilizing actual venue data.
β’ Explore new positioning technologies using development kits, reference hardware, and measurement setups.
β’ Create and employ offline replay, accuracy regression suites, and simulation tools.
β’ Validate algorithms on real iOS and Android devices.
β’ Write production code in the shared C++ engine as well as in native iOS and Android sensor and radio scanning layers.
β’ Optimize performance, memory usage, thread safety, and test coverage.
β’ Transform field issues and unexpected sensor behavior into reproducible test cases and enhancements for the engine.
β’ Utilize AI coding agents daily while reviewing and validating their outputs.
β’ Influence technical decisions through experimentation and code review.
β’ Document technical rationale and contribute to invention disclosures when appropriate.
β’ Take ownership of technical areas, achieve measurable improvements in positioning, troubleshoot customer-venue field issues, and assist in establishing measurement standards.
β’ Over 6 years of professional software engineering experience, particularly in performance-sensitive production code.
β’ Strong foundation in probabilistic state estimation and sensor fusion, including recursive Bayesian filtering and particle-based methods.
β’ Solid background in applied mathematics encompassing linear algebra, probability, numerical methods, and geometry.
β’ Experience dealing with noisy, real-world sensor time series, recorded traces, root-cause isolation, measurable validation, and automated testing.
β’ Daily utilization of AI coding agents and a basic understanding of context windows, tool usage, prompting, instruction files, and common failure modes.
β’ Familiarity with iOS or Android development sufficient for building and debugging on real devices and modifying native platform code.
β’ Proficiency with build systems, Git, compilers, sanitizers, profilers, and cross-platform constraints.
β’ Clear technical communication skills and a collaborative approach to resolving technical disagreements and conducting code reviews.
β’ Professional proficiency in both written and spoken English.
β’ Preferred: experience in indoor positioning, GNSS, robotics, SLAM, pedestrian dead reckoning, or RF signal processing.
β’ Preferred: hands-on experience with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or similar AI coding agents.
β’ Preferred: expertise in modern C++, Swift, Kotlin, or shared native cores in iOS and Android applications.
β’ Preferred: understanding of mobile positioning constraints, including background execution, sensor/radio scanning APIs, power budgets, and device variations.
β’ Preferred: knowledge of BLE, UWB, or Wi-Fi ranging and positioning.
β’ Preferred: experience in computational geometry, geospatial data, map processing, wayfinding, or graph algorithms.
β’ Preferred: application of machine learning to motion or signal models.
β’ Preferred: familiarity with simulation or visualization tools for algorithm development.
β’ Preferred: MS or PhD in a relevant field, research publications, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
