Senior Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design and deconstruct ambiguous product challenges into specific, well-defined test cases and test plans, taking ownership of the work from design to production release.

• Contribute to our AI-driven engineering culture by sharing best practices, documenting effective strategies, and assisting the team in enhancing their AI development skills.

• Proficiently utilize AI tools such as Claude Code, Augment, or similar to streamline implementation timelines, followed by a critical review of all outputs generated.

• Work closely with Product and Design teams to pinpoint discrepancies in specifications, highlight edge cases early, and advocate for quality by pushing back on unready products.

• Establish quality standards: ensure the code is well-structured and maintainable; conduct comprehensive code reviews; maintain sufficient test coverage; and identify bugs introduced by AI before they enter production.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in testing, with a proven history of testing production systems successfully.

• Strong foundational knowledge in quality assurance: designing test cases, conducting tests across various environments with diverse data sets, generating test data as required, troubleshooting production issues, and prioritizing tasks effectively.

• Regular use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar) as part of a quality engineering workflow.

• Ability to critically assess AI-generated test cases and scripts: identify logical errors, detect security vulnerabilities, evaluate maintainability, and effectively test applications.

• Strong analytical skills regarding systems: considering trade-offs, edge cases, and the implications of scaling or failures.

• Excellent communication skills: able to articulate potential issues with new feature interactions, highlight gaps in specifications, clearly define defects, and engage in constructive disagreement.

• Experience working in a dynamic agile development setting.
