Senior Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and lead quality initiatives for major product areas or cross-team projects, defining and implementing extensive test strategies (including functional, integration, performance, and system testing).

• Assist developers in large-scale initiatives to "shift quality left" by enabling them to run acceptance tests locally and sharing methods to enhance their testing and validation processes.

• Create, execute, and uphold intricate automated test scripts (utilizing Python, Pytest, TypeScript, etc.) in collaboration with the development team to promote shared accountability for quality.

• Actively engage in Post-Incident Reviews (PIRs) and work towards comprehensive solutions to mitigate the recurrence of incidents.

• Organize and finalize the Readiness Review testing segments for assigned initiatives, overseeing end-to-end acceptance and exploratory testing at the epic level.

• Perform advanced debugging, including reproduction of staging/production issues and root cause analysis, assisting in troubleshooting challenges even beyond your immediate team.

• Collaborate with the Pillar Lead and Protectobot to pinpoint and resolve technical gaps in test coverage, remove framework obstacles, and implement efficiencies through AI-assisted testing.

• Mentor and guide QE 1s, QE 2s, and QE 3s in advanced testing methodologies, and serve as a technical interviewer during the hiring process.

• Assess risk versus schedule, balancing thorough testing with rapid delivery timelines to enhance engineering velocity.

• Work alongside architects and development leads to ensure the overall testability and robustness of the system.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6-8 years of experience in test planning, automation framework usage, and Agile collaboration, with a strong reputation for addressing challenging problems.

• Advanced expertise in automation tools and programming languages (such as Python, Pytest, Playwright, TypeScript, JavaScript).

• Extensive experience with a variety of testing methodologies, including performance, security, integration, and exploratory testing.

• Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable, maintainable test automation solutions.

• Comprehensive knowledge of CI/CD, deployment pipelines, and debugging tools to facilitate efficient release cycles.

• Strong capability to recognize when and how to escalate issues to ensure prompt resolutions.

• Experience empowering development teams to handle their own testing and fostering a culture of shared quality ownership.

• A collaborative, team-oriented attitude, demonstrating ownership of quality for epics and proactively identifying issues early.

• Excellent communication skills, considering global customer needs and collaborating effectively across teams and regions.

• Proven capability to define and execute strategies for enhancing test coverage, strategically layering Unit Tests, Functional Tests, and Acceptance Tests throughout the entire test automation pyramid.
