Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

📋 Description

• Ensure the reliability, defect-free performance, and proper functionality of both new and existing software.

• Develop, document, verify, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases at the component, integration, system, and user acceptance levels.

• Enhance and uphold test automation practices while conducting manual testing as necessary.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and software development teams to grasp requirements and formulate thorough testing strategies.

• Engage in Agile Scrum activities, which include sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Analyze business and technical requirements to identify gaps, ambiguities, inconsistencies, and concerns regarding testability.

• Generate and report testing metrics, covering test coverage, confidence levels, defect trends, and quality indicators.

• Conduct database validation and testing utilizing SQL, including the creation of test data and verification of data integrity.

• Test intricate multi-tier client/server applications and high-volume software workflows.

• Identify, document, troubleshoot, and confirm software defects in collaboration with developers, business analysts, and QA team members.

• Validate defect resolutions throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Support both greenfield and brownfield development initiatives within a scalable, high-availability environment.

• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level QA professionals.

• Serve as a liaison between Engineering Management, QA teams, and business stakeholders.

• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing software quality, testing efficiency, and team effectiveness.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and testing roles.

• Strong expertise in both White Box and Black Box testing methodologies.

• Proven track record in developing and maintaining automated testing solutions.

• At least 3 years of experience in database testing.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and executing SQL queries.

• Experience in creating and managing test data for database-driven applications.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience working within an Agile software development lifecycle.

• Over 3 years of experience testing multi-tier client/server applications.

• Solid understanding of software development frameworks, architectural concepts, and engineering terminology.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio Team System (VSTS) and Azure DevOps.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Demonstrated leadership skills.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality results under tight deadlines.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Preferred: experience in testing high-volume, high-availability enterprise applications.

• Preferred: experience in supporting greenfield and legacy application modernization projects.

• Preferred: advanced knowledge of SQL, including complex query validation and performance-related testing.

• Preferred: experience with API testing and service-oriented architectures.

• Preferred: experience in testing scalable workflow and business process applications.

• Preferred: knowledge of cloud-based environments and deployment processes.

• Preferred: experience in developing test strategies for enterprise-level systems.

• Preferred: relevant QA, testing, or Agile certifications.
