Senior QA Engineer – Level 4

📋 Description

• Contribute to the quality assurance strategy for Kubernetes and cloud-native environments

• Assess and advocate for testing practices and frameworks applicable to distributed systems

• Lead risk assessment and test planning for extensive, multi-cloud infrastructure and container orchestration

• Design test frameworks and infrastructure for microservices and infrastructure components

• Manage intricate test scenarios that replicate production workloads, scaling, failure injection, and recovery across distributed clusters

• Create scalable test automation integrated with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and other CI/CD systems

• Utilize Kubernetes APIs, Helm, and service mesh tools to establish automation coverage for system health, failover, and network resilience

• Foster repeatable, extensible, and dependable infrastructure-as-code for testing infrastructure

• Mentor QA engineers and developers in risk-based testing, chaos engineering, performance testing, and load testing

• Act as the QA authority during design reviews, production readiness evaluations, and incident retrospectives

• Collaborate with DevOps engineers on monitoring, alerting, and debugging strategies for CI/CD test automation

• Set quality gates, release readiness metrics, and data-driven feedback loops

• Incorporate performance, security, and chaos testing into the software development lifecycle

• Champion a quality culture and influence architectural decisions with testing considerations

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

• Over 10 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering roles

• More than 4 years of focus on Kubernetes, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems

• Demonstrated leadership experience in developing and scaling test strategies in enterprise environments

• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes internals, cluster lifecycle management, Helm, service meshes, and network policies

• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Pytest, Bash, or similar tools

• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Kubernetes security, and performance benchmarking tools like K6

• Solid foundation in AWS, Azure, GCP, infrastructure provisioning, and containerized CI/CD

• Moderate to advanced knowledge of Linux

• Experience with Bash scripting and debugging, systemd/logs, networking, firewalling/routing, certificate/PKI management, Docker/containerd, kubectl/Helm, OCI registries, and GitOps/Flux

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and architectural thinking

• Experience in influencing cross-functional teams and senior leadership

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

• Mentorship and coaching experience with junior team members

• Preferred: contributions to open-source Kubernetes or QA tooling projects

• Preferred: experience in implementing chaos engineering in Kubernetes environments

• Preferred: CKA, CKAD, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification
