Senior QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the end-to-end test strategy throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Develop and manage test coverage utilizing recognized open-source testing tools.

• Formulate the testing strategy, create test cases, and automate the testing processes.

• Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure tests are executed with every significant change.

• Write and update test cases and plans as the product continues to evolve.

• Organize and conduct integration, system, regression, stress, load, and performance testing.

• Collaborate with developers to establish acceptance criteria and promote early testing.

• Investigate failures and lead root-cause analysis for defects that have escaped detection.

• Implement sustainable fixes and provide actionable quality insights, including coverage metrics, flake rates, and escaped defects.

• Evaluate existing test coverage and pinpoint critical gaps within the first 90 days.

• Create a streamlined process for handling failures and mitigating repeat defects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in test automation, with a proven history of crafting and automating test strategies using established open-source testing tools.

• In-depth and practical knowledge of the SDLC and the role of testing at each phase.

• Demonstrated experience in writing test cases and developing test plans.

• Practical experience in integration, system, regression, and stress/performance testing.

• Experience in integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively advocate for quality.

• Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

• Familiarity with open-source testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, pytest, k6, or Locust.

• Experience with testing in cloud or containerized Kubernetes environments.

• Experience supporting SOC 2 or similar compliance initiatives by generating test evidence.

• Background in enterprise or regulated industries.

• Experience in early-stage companies with comprehensive testing responsibilities.
