Senior QA Engineer

Posted 2 days ago

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Georgia.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and reproduce incoming bug reports, tracing issues through logs, API calls, and session replays.

• Test functionalities currently in development and execute regression suites prior to every release.

• Integrate QA sign-off as a fundamental aspect of the release process.

• Create testing strategies, standards, workflows, and documentation from the ground up.

• Develop and implement an automation framework encompassing UI, API, and regression suites.

• Increase automated coverage of high-risk flows without hindering delivery timelines.

• Monitor and communicate quality metrics to ensure reliability is transparent to the entire team.

• Convert customer bug reports into actionable test cases and sustainable coverage.

• Incorporate quality considerations into requirements and design, rather than just at the release sign-off stage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as the first or sole QA engineer at a company or within a team, having established a QA function from the ground up.

• Experience in testing intricate third-party integrations, including REST/SOAP APIs and external data providers.

• Background in delivering test automation from the ground up, rather than merely maintaining an existing framework.

• Strong practical manual and exploratory testing skills for web applications, including functional and regression testing.

• Depth of knowledge in API and integration testing, covering edge cases, error handling, data mapping, and contract validation.

• Expertise in defect management and root-cause analysis, including bug reporting, triage, prioritization, and facilitating resolutions for recurring issues.

• Ability to assess regression risks and make judgements on what is safe to ship.

• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with developers, product teams, and customer-facing teams.

• Familiarity with the travel/Global Distribution System domain, including booking flows, PNRs, fare rules, and availability, is highly advantageous.

• Experience or interest in early-stage or growth-stage startups and comfort in creating structure amid ambiguity.

• Proficiency in English; additional languages are a bonus.

• Availability to work 20 hours per week under a contractor agreement.

🏝️ Benefits

• Contractor agreement.

• Opportunity for growth in an innovative environment.

• Consideration in the talent pool for 60 months.

• Applications may be shared with partners for relevant job opportunities.
