Senior QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable test automation frameworks from the ground up.

• Create and run clear, maintainable automated tests for UI, API, and backend services.

• Execute manual exploratory testing for intricate new features and edge scenarios.

• Conduct root cause analysis on defects to avert their recurrence.

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders and the technical team to define acceptance criteria and formulate comprehensive testing strategies.

• Oversee QA operational metrics.

• Take ownership of the QA Process.

• Promote a "quality first" culture across cross-functional tech teams.

• Keep abreast of emerging AI/testing tools and spearhead continuous process enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Exceptional English and communication skills (daily interactions in English required).

• Prior experience in financial services is highly preferred.

• A strong desire to learn, share knowledge, and collaborate with others.

• Availability for 6 hours of overlap with CET; while hours are flexible, general availability is expected daily between 10-18 Central European Time.

• Self-driven and disciplined to work full-time remotely.

• Must-have:

• Test Frameworks: Practical experience with modern automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress.

• CI/CD & Version Control: Experience in integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools like GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.

• API & Data Testing: Strong expertise in backend testing, RESTful API validation, and database querying (SQL).

• Project Management: Proficient in issue tracking and agile planning tools, particularly JIRA.

• Nice-to-have:

• Observability/Logging: Familiarity with tools like Splunk for debugging product pipeline and environment issues.

• Coding Languages: Knowledge of PHP, Python, and JavaScript is desirable.

• DevOps & Containerization: Practical experience with Docker to containerize test suites, create reproducible test environments, and manage dependencies.
