Senior QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latvia.

📋 Description

• Create and implement detailed test plans for advanced Python and AWS-based applications (Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, EventBridge, etc.)

• Assess application performance throughout the entire modernization lifecycle, including system integration, data migration accuracy, performance, regression, and stress testing

• Partner with architects and engineers to guarantee that test coverage meets enterprise engineering and modernization benchmarks

• Develop automated testing suites for APIs, data processes, and serverless workflows

• Detect risks, defects, and gaps during migration projects and document them clearly with actionable insights

• Validate data migration tools, processes, and outputs for precision, completeness, and compliance

• Engage in reviews of requirements, architectural documents, and code to ensure testability and conformity with quality standards

• Collaborate closely with development teams to resolve issues and confirm fixes across both legacy and cloud-native components

• Ensure that all QA documentation is thorough, traceable, and prepared for handoff to core engineering and operations teams

• Monitor and report on testing progress, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders

• Remain updated on QA best practices, testing tools, and cloud testing strategies, suggesting enhancements to improve quality and efficiency

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in software QA, automation, or quality engineering

• Extensive experience with functional, integration, regression, stress, and system-level testing

• Strong understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS), particularly serverless workflows and distributed systems

• Excellent documentation capabilities, able to produce clear test cases, defect reports, and quality documentation

• Experience in testing APIs, event-driven systems, asynchronous workflows, and data pipelines

• Proficient with test automation frameworks (PyTest, Selenium, Postman/Newman, Robot Framework, or similar)

• Strong expertise in SQL and/or NoSQL databases for data validation

• Capable of identifying problems, gathering data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions in complex systems

• Ability to manage multiple testing variables, constraints, and interdependencies during modernization efforts

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and quality gates

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent English communication and collaboration abilities
