Senior QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Gain a deep understanding of Backblaze products and their software architecture.

• Take ownership of comprehensive testing across UI and API, serving as a reliable quality partner for both product and development teams.

• Promote testability within the software and collaborate with product owners to establish clear acceptance criteria.

• Develop test strategies and create detailed test plans for new features under development.

• Design and automate tests using Python/JavaScript, contributing to existing test harnesses.

• Conduct functional, integration, and regression testing for Backblaze API and user workflows.

• Utilize AI to improve these processes and speed up testing.

• Collaborate with developers to clarify functionalities and aid in defect resolution by identifying, documenting, and verifying software issues.

• Establish and execute improvements in QA processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of QA experience with an emphasis on large-scale testing.

• Proficient in API testing and knowledgeable about cloud storage concepts.

• Extensive experience in scripting and test automation tools (such as Selenium or Playwright).

• Familiarity with TestRail or similar test case management software and JIRA or another project and issue-tracking tool is essential. Additional relevant software includes Jenkins, GitHub, and Postman.

• Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical abilities with a strong attention to detail.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and well-acquainted with SDLC processes.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly.

• Capable of leveraging AI tools to enhance testing processes and promote AI integration.

• Experience across multiple platforms (Mac/Windows/Linux).

• Background in performance and security testing is a bonus.
