This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Create a framework for data and cloud migration aimed at transitioning on-premise software assets to Snowflake and Azure Cloud.
• Assist in moving on-premise software assets to cloud environments.
• Maintain and enhance the team's software solutions and infrastructure.
• Establish best practices and standards for software and data engineering applicable to deployment and management on data and cloud platforms.
• Innovate new solutions while improving existing ones.
• Provide status tracking, reporting, and estimates using project methodologies and tools.
• Design, develop, and test assigned projects; communicate the status of work plans and tasks effectively.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and the planning processes.
• Stay updated on technology trends and continuously enhance technical and IT skills.
• Explore new technologies and recommend their adoption when suitable.
• Collect requirements, confirm understanding, and maintain documentation.
• Execute tasks within the established methodology while adhering to quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and managers to identify user pain points and drive client success.
• Take ownership of projects from technical design through to successful launch.
• Engage in code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency.
• Comprehensive understanding of information systems theories, concepts, methods, and techniques.
• Proven expertise with a minimum of 7+ years of experience in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, Stored Procedures, Kubernetes, Docker, Azure, AKS, Git, and Jenkins.
• Experience in migrating data and data engineering assets to cloud platforms.
• Background in engineering software systems of medium-to-large scope and complexity.
• Proficient in relational databases.
• Experience in building frontend/backend applications at scale.
• Previous work experience in an Agile environment, including Test-Driven Development, Continuous Delivery, and Scrum.
• Experience in the financial industry is mandatory.
• Ability to communicate effectively with systems professionals and Capital Markets business users.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• C# experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with React, Flask, FastAPI, or Django is advantageous.
• Experience with Airflow/Astronomer, DBT, SSIS, or PowerBI is beneficial.
• Experience in migrating web applications to cloud platforms is preferable.
• Experience with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or S&P Xpressfeed is an asset.
• Awareness of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor.
• Completion of the Canadian Securities Course and/or CFA candidacy is favorable.
• An undergraduate or graduate degree in a quantitative discipline is preferred.
