This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.
• Create a framework for data and cloud migration to transition on-premise software assets to Snowflake and Azure Cloud.
• Support the migration of on-premise software assets to cloud environments.
• Maintain and enhance the team's software solutions and infrastructure.
• Establish best practices and standards for software and data engineering deployment and management.
• Innovate new solutions and improve existing offerings.
• Provide tracking of status, reporting, and project estimations.
• Design, develop, and test projects assigned to you.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies and work planning sessions.
• Investigate technology trends and continually refine technical and IT expertise.
• Explore new technologies and recommend their adoption when suitable.
• Collect requirements, ensure understanding, and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Conduct activities within the current methodology while adhering to quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and managers to identify user challenges and iterate on solutions.
• Take ownership of projects from technical design through to successful launch.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency.
• Strong grasp of information systems theories, concepts, methods, and techniques.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience with Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, and stored procedures.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker technologies.
• Proficiency with Azure and AKS.
• Knowledge of Git and Jenkins.
• Experience in migrating data and data engineering assets to cloud environments.
• Background in engineering medium-to-large-scope and complex software systems.
• Proficient in relational databases.
• Experience in building frontend and backend applications at scale.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Test-Driven Development, Continuous Delivery, and Scrum.
• Experience in the financial sector is essential.
• Ability to communicate effectively with systems professionals and Capital Markets business users.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in English.
• Completion of the Canadian Securities Course and/or CFA candidacy is advantageous.
• Knowledge of C# is a plus.
• Experience with web development frameworks such as React, Flask, FastAPI, or Django is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Airflow/Astronomer, DBT, SSIS, and PowerBI is a plus.
• Experience in migrating web applications to cloud platforms is an asset.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or S&P Xpressfeed is advantageous.
• Understanding of AI coding agents like Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor is desirable.
• An undergraduate or graduate degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.
