This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.
• Create a framework for data and cloud migration to transition on-premise software assets to Snowflake and Azure Cloud.
• Support the migration of on-premise software assets to cloud environments.
• Maintain and enhance software solutions and infrastructure.
• Establish best practices and standards for software and data engineering related to deployment and management on cloud platforms.
• Innovate new solutions and improve existing ones.
• Provide tracking of status, reporting, and estimation using project methodologies and tools.
• Design, develop, and test assigned projects.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies and work-planning processes.
• Explore technology trends and continuously enhance technical and IT skills.
• Research new technologies and recommend their adoption when suitable.
• Gather requirements, confirm understanding, and maintain proper documentation.
• Execute tasks within the existing methodology while adhering to quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and managers to identify user challenges and improve solutions.
• Manage projects from technical design to successful launch.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and consistency in code.
• Strong understanding of information systems theories, concepts, methods, and techniques.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, and stored procedures.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Knowledge of Azure and AKS.
• Proficient in Git and Jenkins.
• Experience in migrating data and data engineering assets to cloud platforms.
• Ability to engineer medium-to-large scale software systems.
• Proficiency with relational databases.
• Experience in building frontend/backend applications at scale.
• Experience working within an Agile environment.
• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development, Continuous Delivery, and Scrum.
• Required experience in the financial industry.
• Effective communicator with systems professionals and Capital Markets business users.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in the English language.
• Completion of the Canadian Securities Course and/or CFA candidacy is a plus.
• C# experience is a plus.
• Experience with React, Flask, FastAPI, or Django is a plus.
• Familiarity with Airflow/Astronomer, DBT, SSIS, and PowerBI is a plus.
• Experience migrating web applications to cloud platforms is desirable.
• Knowledge of Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or S&P Xpressfeed is an asset.
• Understanding of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor.
• An undergraduate or graduate degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.
