Senior Python Backend Developer – Part-time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Oversee incident response as the primary contact, ensuring prompt triage and resolution within established SLAs.

• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify underlying issues.

• Investigate and rectify backend bugs within the Django application, addressing post-launch and integration-related challenges.

• Optimize infrastructure and modify system configurations to enhance reliability and stability.

• Resolve compatibility issues related to dependencies across application and infrastructure layers.

• Improve the performance of both the application and the PostgreSQL database through query tuning, indexing, caching, and connection management.

• Address observability gaps to enhance monitoring and visibility.

• Refine runbooks for better operational guidance.

• Implement minor improvements in DevOps processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior Python Backend Developer with over 4 years of commercial experience in building and maintaining production-grade backend systems, including support for complex systems.

• Expertise in Django and Django REST Framework (DRF), with a proven track record in designing, documenting, and scaling REST APIs, as well as managing authentication, serialization, pagination, and custom middleware.

• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL, including schema design, complex query optimization, indexing, transactions, and best practices for ORM (Django ORM / raw SQL).

• Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly in deploying and managing services on Cloud Run and working with managed databases via Cloud SQL. Familiarity with GCP logging, monitoring, and basic CI/CD practices is required.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of directly influencing requirements and working independently as needed; proactive approach is essential.

• Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.

• Experience in developing admin panels using Django.

• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and TypeScript/JavaScript.
