Senior Public Health Informatics Analyst – Health Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver scientific and technical assistance to Federal Government leadership concerning poliovirus containment initiatives.

• Work in collaboration with program personnel, technical specialists, containment facilities, and external collaborators to ascertain requirements.

• Utilize public health informatics for program monitoring, compliance, technical oversight, and informed decision-making.

• Examine operational, programmatic, and technical data to pinpoint trends, risks, opportunities, and strategies for improvement.

• Support globally recognized containment standards and operational mandates.

• Organize technical working groups, stakeholder meetings, and collaborative projects.

• Monitor project activities, deliverables, milestones, risks, assumptions, and interdependencies.

• Gather, manage, integrate, validate, and analyze data from various sources.

• Create methodologies for data collection, reporting frameworks, performance metrics, and monitoring techniques.

• Produce dashboards, visual representations, reports, and analytical outputs for program oversight and executive decision-making.

• Design and maintain electronic data collection instruments, surveys, forms, databases, and reporting systems.

• Conduct data quality assessments and suggest corrective measures.

• Craft technical guidance, policy documents, standard operating procedures, and training resources.

• Review and synthesize scientific literature, technical reports, policies, guidelines, and program documentation.

• Carry out quality assurance evaluations of technical and communication materials.

• Act as a liaison among customer personnel, containment facilities, public health entities, international partners, contractors, and technical experts.

• Prepare briefing documents, executive summaries, reports, presentations, and resources for knowledge sharing.

• Present technical findings and program updates to leadership and stakeholder groups.

• Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and technical support activities.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least seven (7) years of professional experience in supporting public health, scientific, epidemiological, surveillance, preparedness, laboratory, biosafety, biosecurity, containment, or health informatics programs.

• Proven experience in data analysis, dashboard/report creation, stakeholder coordination, and technical documentation.

• Familiarity with public health program implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Knowledge of public health surveillance, data management, and information systems.

• Understanding scientific methods and analytical techniques for evidence-based decision-making.

• Experience with biosafety, biosecurity, laboratory operations, containment programs, or related public health fields.

• Proficiency in public health informatics and information management approaches.

• Hands-on experience with data collection, management, integration, validation, and reporting.

• Capability to develop dashboards, visualizations, performance metrics, and analytical products.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI, Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, or similar tools.

• Ability to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

• Experience in developing measures, indicators, and evaluation frameworks.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• Capacity to synthesize information from various technical and operational sources.

• Excellent written and verbal communication proficiencies.

• Skill in conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• Experience in facilitating meetings, working groups, stakeholder engagements, and collaborative projects.

• Proven technical writing skills for reports, briefings, guidance documents, and presentations.

• Eligibility to obtain government clearance.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

• Master’s degree in a relevant field such as public health, epidemiology, health informatics, biostatistics, health policy, environmental health, biological sciences, health services research, data science, or a closely related scientific discipline.

• A Bachelor's degree along with additional relevant experience may be accepted.

• Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.

• May require lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.

• Preferred: experience with CDC, HHS, WHO, APHL, or another public health organization.

• Preferred: experience in supporting laboratory, biosafety, biosecurity, infectious disease, or containment initiatives.

• Preferred: knowledge of poliovirus containment principles and international containment standards.

• Preferred: experience in supporting program evaluation, data modernization, or public health informatics initiatives.

• Preferred: familiarity with REDCap, Power BI, SAS, R, SQL, Tableau, or similar analytical tools.

• Preferred: experience in supporting federal advisory groups, technical working groups, or international collaborations.
