Senior Protocol Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Support the Chief, DPLS in fostering positive working relationships with Representatives of Member Countries concerning their protocol-related needs and their accreditation with the host country, including the registration and accreditation of IYF personnel;

• Organize the facilitation of credentials for newly appointed Representatives, providing them with guidance on standard procedures;

• Plan, coordinate, and implement official and high-level visits/functions, ceremonies, bilateral and multilateral meetings with foreign dignitaries, and special events hosted at IYF, collaborating with the Security and Interpretation Services, and liaising with Member States as necessary;

• Ensure the effective organization and delivery of essential protocol and liaison services for IYF Events and other governing body meetings, committees, and established groups; oversee protocol arrangements and manage operational preparations, including invitations, table plans, seating, menus, and facilities; manage and oversee protocol budgets and financial expenditures;

• Assist with all aspects related to the IYF Awards Programmes, including nurturing relationships with stakeholders, preparing or approving correspondence, authorizing the purchase of medals, and ensuring the accuracy of the database;

• Manage general and protocol-related correspondence with Permanent Missions, Governments, Intergovernmental organizations, and other entities; prepare and review congratulatory, appreciation, welcome, and condolence letters; coordinate and ensure the effective management and verification of the database concerning the contact information of senior officials, Ambassadors, and Permanent Missions;

• Provide knowledgeable and authoritative advice and respond to inquiries on protocol matters such as honorifics/titles, salutations, VIP ranking, gift exchanges, and invitation letters;

• Carry out other related activities as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred experience and proven results in a protocol role, management, youth empowerment, development, communications, international relations, youth studies, sports, women empowerment, youth-led organizations, or other relevant fields.

• Strong computer, internet, social media, and information system skills.

• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

• Capability to assist in strategic planning, results-based management, and reporting.
