Senior Protection and Control Testing Technician – Technologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Execute testing and commissioning of MV/HV power system protection and control schemes within the utility, power generation, and oil & gas industries.

• Carry out secondary relay injection testing on microprocessor relays/IEDs utilizing advanced testing equipment such as Omicron CMC356 and CMC500.

• Perform testing and verification of SCADA points.

• Analyze technical drawings and troubleshoot or resolve field issues.

• Prepare and submit comprehensive commissioning reports.

• Assist in the creation of commissioning startup procedures and work instructions.

• Adhere to all safety protocols in line with corporate, client, and industry standards.

• Liaise with clients to address questions, discuss concerns, and confirm solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from an accredited institution.

• At least 4 years of experience in protection and controls relay testing within the electrical utilities sector.

• Practical experience with advanced relay testing devices (e.g., Omicron CMC356, CMC500).

• A valid driver's license with an impeccable driving record.

• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada; VISA sponsorship is not provided.

• Willingness to work extended periods away from home.
