This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
β’ Oversees and strategically directs workflows related to new property and casualty business as well as renewals.
β’ Evaluates, prioritizes, and selects submissions while pricing risks that will yield an underwriting profit for the carrier.
β’ Conducts comprehensive risk assessments.
β’ Establishes appropriate coverage limits, insurance premiums, and policy terms based on risk evaluations.
β’ Negotiates terms and conditions in collaboration with the broker.
β’ Develops strategic initiatives aimed at creating new business opportunities.
β’ Manages both internal and external relationships to ensure exceptional customer service.
β’ Collaborates with underwriting teams.
β’ Delivers accurate premium forecasts and business plans.
β’ Enhances underwriting processes for efficiency.
β’ Participates in industry events.
β’ A minimum of 8 years of experience in Property and Casualty Underwriting is required.
β’ A Bachelorβs degree is necessary, with a preference for degrees in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, or Business Administration.
β’ Must fulfill the minimum requirements for state P&C and/or surplus line licenses.
β’ Preferred qualifications include Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
